Engineered Wood Products

PNG Forest Products is an industry leader in Engineered Wood Products. Our extensive range of products and services for the domestic and export markets includes treated pine timber and plywood; kit homes and pre-fabricated buildings; project construction and infrastructure development; and our innovative modular bridging and decking systems.

All timber is sourced from sustainable pine plantations. The sawmilling and manufacturing plants in Bulolo are powered by PNGFP’s own sustainable hydro power stations.

Plywood

Our high quality plywood is produced to Australian & New Zealand standards in accordance with the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA) Quality Assurance procedures, with regular independent testing carried out by the EWPAA. This plywood is sold in the domestic PNG market and exported to Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific.

Shown below are the basic specification and general uses for the various grades of plywood produced and sold by PNGFP.

ECONOPLY

Low grade general purpose non-structural plywood which is ideally suited to packaging.

COMMON PLY

General purpose non-structural plywood that is most commonly used for internal lining of walls and ceilings

VALUPLY

General purpose non-structural plywood panel designed for general construction, internal wall & ceiling lining and packaging.

PRUFPLY

Interior plywood most suited to high quality wall and ceiling linings with added protection against insect attack.

EXTERIOR PLY

High quality appearance grade plywood sheeting for walls and ceilings.

STRUCTURAL PLY

Structural Ply is a general-purpose structural plywood designed for most internal structural applications such as shelving, flooring etc.

MARINE PLY

Marine Ply is a structural plywood designed for use in the hulls of boats and other marine applications as well as aircraft construction and kitchen joinery.

DURAPLY / DURAFLOOR

A preservative treated all-purpose heavy-duty plywood for structural applications in harsh environments. DuraPly & DuraFloorare treated using the veneer treatment method, providing protection from rot and termites

ECONOCLAD

EconoClad is a low cost rustic functional exterior plywood cladding designed for use on low cost building projects. EconoClad is protected from rotting and termites by H3 veneer treating for outdoor above ground use.

NIUFORM

NiuForm is a general purpose Formply. NiuForm is coated both sides with a phenolic overlay to both faces, that will give multiple uses when recommended construction practices are used.

OUTPform

A high quality softwood faced formwork panel with a specialty phenolic resin-impregnated overlay, specifically designed to provide a smooth surface finish and allow for multiple reuse of panels in concrete pours. OUTPform F17 achieves a class 3 off form finish as per AS/NZS 6669 and is ideal for both commercial and civil construction applications.
